GUIDELINES FOR CHOOSING THE WIRE SHELVING THAT IS RIGHT FOR YOUR APPLICATION:

One of the principal benefits of wire shelving is its compatibility with overhead fire sprinkler systems.
Wire shelves allow water to pass through them to the shelves below --- an important consideration with many insurers.

	POLYBRITE or ZINC-PLATED wire shelves: These are the most widely used wire shelving units in offices, laboratories, and warehouse applications where the product stored upon them is dry and non-corrosive. It has excellent durability and wear resistance, but should not be used in moist or wet environments, or in cooler and freezer applications where condensation occurs. It is bright and very presentable, and favored in high-tech applications, medical and laboratory environments, and dry goods storage from paper to boxed products.
	CHROME PLATED wire shelves: These wire shelves are brighter in appearance than zinc-plated shelving, with a highly polished finish that is, in fact, chrome, and therefore even more wear resistant than zinc-plated shelves and tolerate moisture better, although, like zinc plated wire shelves, they should not be used in moist or wet environments, or in cooler and freezer applications where condensation occurs. These are extensively used in medical and laboratory environments, and are desirable for the longevity of their bright finish. They are just modestly more expensive than zinc plated.
	STAINLESS STEEL wire shelves The ultimate in durability. 304 stainless steel is practically impervious to moisture, water, and many chemicals and solvents. It is ideal for freezer and cooler applications. Its appearance is not as bright as chrome plated shelves, but its longevity is unmatched. It is also the most expensive wire shelving.
	NEXELON wire shelves Top of the line finish. Lifetime warranty. Less expensive than stainless steel while preserving all its advantages. Chemical, acid, abrasion, and corrosion resistant. For virtually every environment. Comes in a lustrous, deep blue metallic finish.
	LOADMASTER wire shelves: The most economical finish: gloss black or white, these powder epoxy coated shelves are nevertheless chip and rust resistant. Use in dry areas for general economical storage.
